Gloria was referred to the agency in 2004. She has been working with the janitorial crew since February 2005. During Gloria’s time with us she has had to overcome several issues regarding her family situation, but has prevailed. Gloria lost her mother in 2005 just as she joined our crew and her father had a stroke later that same year. Gloria also has custody of her 2 young granddaughters. Along with working on our janitorial crew 25 to 30 hours a week, Gloria works a weekend job to make sure her granddaughters have everything they need. Gloria does all of this without a driver’s license, which she is studying for now.

Here is what her supervisors say about Gloria: Gloria Simms is an excellent worker for us. She’s very conscientious in her work. She is thorough in her attention to detail and gives serious though to what she’s doing so her efforts are effective. She goes beyond her normal duties and is willing to work extra hours to get a project done. She’s a team player and is always reliable and diligent in her work.
